I have only done two self-portraits in my time as a photographer. In fact, I usually try to stay behind the lens more than in front. This one I took while backpacking in October. The digital quality is not the best as it is a scan from a Kodachrome slide. The slide itself looks absolutely beautiful, other than my presence.

This was taken the other night in an experiment in using a feature I'd forgotten I had on my camera, the continuous shot where you set the camera to shoot at a set interval up to I think 20 minute interals on this camera, if not longer. I was working on a photo project in Photoshop and at one point, turned around and stared at the camera for a minute and it took this shot. Even with the slightly low exposure, I managed to adjust what I could and make it B&W. And tonight I tried another stab at it, but felt the first image had a much better background, more interesting so without further ado, here it is.

Yesterday I went pink again, my dearest Daddy bleached and pinked it for me while doing the 'zohan', which was rather disturbing.

This is probably my favorite recent self portrait.



Shot with a D700 hanging from a superclamp/arm/gorrillapod monstrosity hanging from a shower curtain and an IR remote. Pants not shown but present, I promise. It was too early in the morning to be drinking, gotta wait til noon at least.

This doesn't mean you have to snap the picture of yourself (although you most certainly take complete ownership by doing so)...but the photo must be your own. You must conceptualize it, render it, and direct it. It must be worthy of your signature and copyright.
